PREVENT HYDRO LOCK WITH YOUR COLD AIR INTAKE
Acura RSX AEM Air Bypass Valve virtually eliminates the chance of hydro-lock in the event the filter of your AEM Cold Air induction system becomes submerged in water. On most systems, the valve installs along the upper portion of the inlet pipe and shuts down induction at the filter when it becomes submerged, re routing air through its external diaphragm to keep water out and air flowing in. The AEM air bypass valve is C.A.R.B. exempt on AEM Cold Air induction systems only .AEM air bypass valve protect your engine in the event that your cold air intake filter ever becomes submerged in water. The patented swing valve design draws air from the center section of your intake when the vacuum becomes too great on the filter from being underwater. Protect your engine from the serious damage that can be caused by hydro lock with the AEM bypass valve.
On heavy rainy days, or one deep puddle, your engine can fail due to major access of water into the engine with the cold air intake. It has been happening ever since the cold air intakes first invented back in the 90. Cold air intakes induce air outside the engine compartment through a filter that is place behind the front bumper low to the ground. The air taken from that section of the car is more cooler and denser. This causes the filter to access water that cause hydro lock. Water is not compressible so it would be dangerous to the engine when induced. The air bypass valve would help your engine from expensive damage. Intake becomes submerged, air bypass valve take over.

Introduced for 2002, the front-drive RSX replaced entry-level Integra. Though similar in dimensions, the car featured new styling and promised more power. The new model came only as a two-door hatch back coupe, whereas the Integra had been offered in coupe and sedan body styles. It came in both base and sportier, performance-oriented Type-S trim. Each used a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The 160-horsepower base model(155 hp 2006 models) could have a five-speed manual or optional five-speed automatic transmission. In the Type-S, the engine made 200 horsepower (210 hp 2006 models) and was available only with a six-speed manual gearbox. The Type-S had a firmer suspension, but the same 16-inch wheels and tires as the base model from 02-04. In 2005-2006 Type S models are tucked with 17-inch 5 spokes and base model is 16-inch twin 6 spokes. Both versions included antilock four-wheel disc brakes and front side airbags, plus automatic climate control and a sunroof. Leather upholstery was standard in the Type-S and optional for the base. The Type-S also contained an in-dash CD changer. Overall the bypass valve.is made to be driven and a very attractive styling.
